a spec idea the agency had pinned up on the ‘MUST MAKE’ wall for 2 years. for context, blind or partially sighted women in most cases must seek out a friend, neighbour, family member or doctor in order to find out the result of their pregnancy test. it should be the women’s right to know first, and their right to do what they want with that information and not feel judged. the creatives had a simple idea - make the world’s first accessible pregnancy test, easy to say, not easy to make. we teamed up with a product developer and spent months researching with blind and partially sighted women. their insight shaped the design, and eventually we built a working prototype. we made the CAD drawings open source, took the idea to a mass manufacturer, and ultimately caught Clearblue’s attention. toughest but most rewarding project i have worked on without a doubt.
